IKEA Revives Its PS Line With a Fresh Creative Vision
IKEA has officially unveiled its PS 2026 Collection, marking the return of the brand’s experimental design series for the first time since 2017. Built around the idea of “Playful Functionality,” the new 44 piece collection focuses on transforming everyday household essentials into interactive objects that encourage movement, creativity, and adaptability.
Created by a team of 12 designers, the lineup continues IKEA’s commitment to Democratic Design by balancing form, functionality, affordability, sustainability, and quality within one cohesive collection.
Furniture Designed To Be Flexible and Fun
The PS 2026 Collection introduces a variety of pieces built specifically for modern living and compact spaces. One of the standout releases is Mikael Axelsson’s inflatable easy chair, which reimagines the nostalgic inflatable furniture trend with a durable metal frame and supportive textile construction.
Other highlights include a flexible cylindrical floor lamp by Lex Pott that users can reposition into different shapes and angles, as well as Marta Krupińska’s solid pine rocking bench that adds movement and personality to traditional seating.
The collection also pushes craftsmanship forward with Friso Wiersma’s boatbuilder inspired storage pieces and a premium sofa bed designed by Ola Wihlborg featuring pocket spring construction for improved comfort and sleep support.
Small Space Living Gets a Smarter Upgrade
Many of the pieces are specifically designed to maximize smaller interiors without sacrificing personality. Foldable tables and chairs, rolling storage trolleys, hidden cable solutions, and multifunctional furniture all play a major role throughout the collection.
Rather than focusing purely on minimalism, IKEA leans into furniture that feels interactive and emotionally engaging, encouraging users to reshape and personalize their spaces over time.
Release Information
The IKEA PS 2026 Collection launches in UK stores beginning May 14, 2026, with online availability starting May 22. Pricing ranges from approximately $3 USD for decorative accessories to around $715 USD for the collection’s premium sofa bed offerings.
