WASTED by Potato Head Launches First Homeware Line With Max Lamb

WASTED

A bold, Bali-made collection turning waste into meaningful design.

Where Craft Meets Conscious Living

WASTED by Potato Head has officially dropped Collection 001, a boundary-pushing homeware line co-designed with celebrated British designer Max Lamb. This debut range transforms eight local waste streams into beautiful, functional pieces — all handcrafted by artisans in Bali.

Rooted in Potato Head’s “Good Times, Do Good” mission, the collection blends sustainability with creativity, showcasing what’s possible when design meets purpose. Every piece reimagines waste as a valuable resource, from recycled HDPE plastics and discarded hotel linens to mouth-blown glass and hand-woven Balinese bamboo.

Waste As A Creative Medium

Collection 001 celebrates Indonesia’s rich craftsmanship and commitment to sustainability — including the island’s ambitious 99.5% landfill diversion goal. Techniques like natural dyeing with marigold and indigo, plastic casting, ceramic glazing, glassblowing, and traditional weaving all take center stage, revealing the natural textures and colors of each repurposed material.

The result? A poetic mix of items like marbled plastic chairs, refillable candles, bamboo seating, and sculptural ceramic vessels — each one uniquely made and deeply tied to place and process.

A Blueprint For Circular Design

Years of research and collaboration through the Community Waste Project laid the foundation for this collection. It’s a closed-loop system that challenges how we define value, origin, and sustainability in design.

As Max Lamb puts it, “Designers have a responsibility to justify every product we bring into the world.” Through this collaboration, WASTED offers a powerful model for how brands can scale local solutions into global inspiration.

Collection 001 is available online starting August 4 at 8 a.m. GMT / 4 a.m. EST, and in select stores beginning August 8, 2025.
