A rare sculptural piece exploring nature, body, and material in harmony
Design studio TABLEAU reunites with Bloc Studios for their second collaboration, introducing the Trunk Vase—a bold, conceptual object that blurs the lines between nature and sculpture. With only 10 pieces available globally, the vase is carved from rare Giallo Imperiale marble, making it as exclusive as it is expressive.
The form, echoing both tree trunks and bone structures, plays with texture and shape—melding rugged natural inspiration with Bloc Studios’ refined, sculptural sensibility. Each piece is handcrafted by skilled Carrara artisans who highlight the marble’s matte finish and natural veining, hollowing the center to hold living florals. The result feels both raw and elevated, rooted in the organic while shaped by human hands.
“More than a vessel for flowers,” explains TABLEAU founder Julius Værnes Iversen, “the Trunk Vase is a conversation about what connects us—body, forest, nature.” Bloc Studios’ Sara Ferron adds, “It challenged us to stretch marble beyond function into metaphor.”
A sculptural dialogue between permanence and impermanence, nature and design, the Trunk Vase is now available for inquiry via TABLEAU, Bloc Studios, and select international galleries.
