NOT A HOTEL Opens Tokyo Office Featuring Exclusive NIGO Lounge Experience

NOT A HOTEL

The creative hospitality brand unveils its Harumi headquarters blending design, innovation, and culture

A Headquarters That Defies Convention

NOT A HOTEL has officially opened its new headquarters in Harumi, Tokyo—but don’t expect a traditional office. True to its name and spirit, the NOT A HOTEL OFFICE is a multi-purpose, design-forward space that functions as a hybrid workspace, event venue, and creative lab. Designed by NOT A HOTEL ARCHITECTS, the expansive warehouse-style environment reflects the company’s philosophy of remote-first flexibility, while offering a place to explore future-facing ideas in design, work, and hospitality.

The space includes 36 hot desks, four quiet pods, and a massive 15-meter wooden table used for both co-working and community gatherings. A sleek meeting room with a dark gray kitchen features the same luxury appliances found in NOT A HOTEL properties—continuing the brand’s commitment to merging function with comfort and style.

The NIGO Lounge: A One-of-a-Kind Owner Experience

One of the standout features of the new office is The NIGO Lounge, a private, reservation-only event space curated by none other than cultural icon and creative director NIGO®. Exclusively available to NOT A HOTEL property owners, this lounge accommodates one group per day and is outfitted with smokeless yakiniku grills and full kitchen facilities for elevated private dining experiences.

Inside, NIGO’s design influence is everywhere—from a towering U-shaped wall of 284 Swiss-made USM Haller storage units to the vintage touches that define his signature aesthetic. The space strikes a perfect balance between refined minimalism and personal style, making it as much a design showcase as it is a members-only retreat.

Design That Lives and Breathes Culture

The office also houses one of the most unexpected elements: a fully restored 6×6 Jean Prouvé Demountable House from 1944, imported from France and furnished with vintage French modernist pieces. This iconic structure serves as both a centerpiece and a living example of NOT A HOTEL’s “live anywhere” philosophy.

Other design highlights include Cassina x Virgil Abloh stools lining the central workspace and PRATONE lounge chairs adding playful texture throughout the open floor. The entire environment doubles as a living gallery, with rare items from NIGO’s personal collection on display. In every detail, the space reflects NOT A HOTEL’s unique blend of hospitality, design, and cultural relevance—positioning the brand as a leader in reimagining how and where we live and work.
