Kelly Wearstler Launches Side Hustle

The new curatorial platform brings together multidisciplinary creatives to explore unexpected forms and ideas.

A Platform for Creative Exploration

LA-based designer Kelly Wearstler has introduced Side Hustle, a space dedicated to showcasing work across furniture, video, jewelry, and automotive design. The platform aims to champion creatives working beyond the constraints of client commissions, fostering experimentation and cultural dialogue within design.

First Exhibition: Again, Differently

The debut show took place at a Beverly Hills residence, featuring 10 practitioners including Dozie Kanu, Joana Schneider, Mariko Makino, and Kenny Beats. Artists transformed familiar materials—timber into fabric-like forms and rubber into solid, monolithic objects—highlighting innovation and material play.

Expanding Beyond the Gallery

Each exhibition will also exist digitally on SideHustleGallery.com, with plans to expand Side Hustle to new cities and “unexpected contexts,” positioning the platform as a hub for cross-disciplinary creativity and cultural exchange.
