Timeless silhouettes reimagined in mirror-polished steel.

From Archive to Present

Copenhagen design house Georg Jensen has reintroduced two archival pitchers by Danish sculptor Henning Koppel. First designed in 1962 and 1975, Pitcher 02 and Pitcher 03 return in mirror-polished stainless steel, their organic forms evoking the same futuristic energy they carried at the height of the Space Age.

Craft and Process

Each reissue requires hours of meticulous hand-finishing to achieve its fluid, sculptural silhouette. The combination of industrial-strength steel and liquid-like curves underscores Koppel’s talent for merging technical rigor with artistic expression.

Legacy of Experimentation

Koppel worked with Georg Jensen from 1945 to 1981, shaping a body of modern homewares rooted in sketching, plaster prototypes and silver modeling. His iterative process and unconventional proportions embodied the brand’s ethos of pushing materials beyond tradition. The reissued pitchers continue this legacy, reaffirming Koppel’s place in modern design history.
