The new Berlin gallery debuts with “Partie Une,” an exhibition that blends iconic design, emerging talent and immersive storytelling.
A New Vision for Collectible Design
Berlin’s Galerie OM has officially launched with Partie Une, an inaugural exhibition that positions the gallery as more than a traditional design showroom. Founded by Moana Thies and Oscar Gröne, with creative direction from Julian Zacharias Eide, the space operates on a commission-based model focused on creating immersive environments where design is experienced through atmosphere, hospitality, scent and sound. Rather than simply displaying objects, Galerie OM aims to frame collectible design within a broader cultural and social context.
Design Icons Meet Contemporary Voices
The debut exhibition spans nearly a century of design history, bringing together celebrated figures such as Jean Prouvé, Jean Royère, Ettore Sottsass and Pierre Chareau alongside contemporary names including Maarten Baas, Martin Margiela, Caroline Keslassy and Fabio Novembre. By removing chronological boundaries, the exhibition encourages dialogue across generations, highlighting shared themes of material experimentation, emotional resonance and structural innovation. Emerging designers such as Marten H. Anderson, Lorène Cavagna and Alex Joncas further reinforce the gallery’s commitment to new creative perspectives.
An Exhibition Built Around Atmosphere
Rather than adopting the conventional white-cube gallery format, Partie Une transforms its surroundings into an active part of the exhibition experience. Inspired by Berlin’s raw creative energy and the mood of 1970s interiors, the presentation unfolds as a multi-sensory environment where objects, architecture and ambiance work together. The result is a more immersive approach to collectible design—one that encourages visitors to engage with pieces not just as functional objects, but as participants in a larger narrative.
