An immersive dialogue between design and fine art in Monaco.
A Living Interior of Art and Design
Paulin, Paulin, Paulin has partnered with Hauser & Wirth Monaco to present Mise-en-scène, transforming the gallery into a fully realized environment rather than a traditional exhibition. The space places Pierre Paulin’s iconic furniture at the center, using it as a stage for a broader conversation between functional design and fine art.
A Dialogue Across Generations
The presentation brings together works from major figures like Pablo Picasso, Louise Bourgeois, Jean Arp, Lucio Fontana and Andy Warhol, alongside contemporary artists such as Rashid Johnson, Henry Taylor and Paul McCarthy. Set against Paulin’s sculptural seating and interiors, the mix creates a layered exchange between 20th-century masters and current voices, blurring the line between object and artwork.
Sound as an Extension of the Space
Expanding beyond visuals, the exhibition introduces “Sounds Like Paulin,” a music-focused initiative that treats sound as part of the overall experience. The program launches with a live performance by The Cristalist and continues with seasonal activations, turning the exhibition into an evolving, multi-sensory setting throughout its run in Monaco.
