Newly Renovated Park Hyatt Tokyo Reopens Its Doors

tokyo

A 19 month restoration refreshes the iconic hotel made famous by Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation.

The Renovation

Park Hyatt Tokyo has reopened following an extensive 19 month restoration that revitalized all areas, including the legendary New York Grill & Bar. The project focused on preserving the hotel’s legacy while deepening a sense of calm, understated luxury. Public spaces, dining venues, wellness areas, and social zones have all been refreshed to align with this vision.

Guest Rooms and Suites

The hotel’s 171 rooms received a major redesign by Studio Jouin Manku, blending Japanese tradition with modern touches. Newly commissioned artworks from Yoshitaka Echizenya, Noguchi washi lamps, and custom furnishings in a black anthracite and green palette define the interiors. Room sizes range from the 592 sq. ft. Deluxe Rooms to the 3,122 sq. ft. Presidential Suite, which features a library, dining and living salons, timber and marble finishes, and spa style bathroom amenities. A new 915 sq. ft. Park Suite offers sweeping views of Harajuku, Shibuya, and Yoyogi Park.

Experience

General Manager Fredrik Harfors notes the renovation honors the hotel’s past while inviting a new chapter of guest experiences. The reopening offers travelers a refreshed opportunity to enjoy this Tokyo landmark with its signature blend of luxury, comfort, and iconic city views.
