Jasper Morrison Redefines Wooden Cutlery with Puiforcat’s “Jersey” Collection

Jeresy

The iconic “Super Normal” designer brings his minimalist vision to a sleek new set of cherry wood cutlery.

A Minimalist Collaboration

Celebrated designer Jasper Morrison has partnered with French silverware house Puiforcat to create “Jersey,” a refined cutlery collection crafted from Japanese cherry wood. The set includes a fork, knife, spoon, serving utensils, and chopsticks, all designed with Morrison’s signature pared-back style.

Each piece is coated with a fine layer of Japanese lacquer that highlights the natural grain of the wood while offering durable, antibacterial protection. The result is both functional and visually warm, staying true to Morrison’s belief that great design should feel natural and effortless.

The “Super Normal” Philosophy

Morrison’s design approach — which he calls “Super Normal” — aims to strip away unnecessary elements, allowing the essence of materials and usability to shine. “The design world had forgotten its roots and the basic notion that we designers are supposed to take care of the man-made environment and try to improve it,” Morrison explains.

A New Direction for Puiforcat

Founded in 1820, Puiforcat is known for its high-end silverware. The introduction of wood into its collections marks a fresh direction, with the “Jersey” line designed to complement Donald Judd’s iconic “Dinner Service” pieces.

Availability

The “Jersey” collection is available now, with purchasing details listed on the Puiforcat website.
