FRAMA Introduces the Ratio Storage Series — A Study in Architectural Balance

FRAMA

Copenhagen-based design brand FRAMA has unveiled its newest furniture line, the Ratio Storage Series, a collection that combines architectural precision with timeless Scandinavian minimalism. Created in collaboration with ilo founders Ana Magalhães Ilharco and Matilde Cortez de Lobão, the series celebrates proportion, weight, and harmony in design.

A Four-Piece Collection with Purpose

The Ratio Series features four freestanding storage pieces: the Ratio Chest, Console, Side Table, and Trolley. Each piece is crafted in warm birch wood, blending sharp geometric lines with a natural, tactile finish. The Chest and Console offer horizontal storage with drawers, creating clean surfaces that highlight the wood grain. Meanwhile, the compact Side Table and open Trolley add versatility, emphasizing balance and precise construction.

Inspired by Architecture and Design History

The designers approached the Ratio Series as an exploration of architectural rhythm. Drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese interiors and European Modernism, the collection reflects early 20th-century design sensibilities—bridging the gap between handcraft and industrial production. Every detail is carefully tuned, ensuring each piece feels both contemporary and familiar.

FRAMA’s Design Philosophy

The Ratio Series fits seamlessly into FRAMA’s broader portfolio, which includes celebrated lines like the Symmetry and Rivet Series. The collection echoes the brand’s ethos of simplicity, functionality, and material integrity, offering furniture that enhances a space without overwhelming it.

The Ratio Storage Series is now available through FRAMA and select global retailers.
