Tom Robinson’s Intra Side Table Marries Industrial Strength With Everyday Functionality

Hand-cast from weatherproof concrete, this piece combines durability with practical design.

Sculptural Durability

Designer Tom Robinson’s Intra Side Table is crafted to last for decades, seamlessly bridging indoor and outdoor use. Hand-cast from weatherproof concrete and infused with vibrant pigments, the table offers a robust alternative to mass-produced furniture that often deteriorates quickly.

Its striking I-beam-inspired profile features two vertical walls that form a central void, providing a practical storage space for books, laptops, or even firewood. This combination of sculptural integrity and functionality is informed by research into industrial beams and Roman columns, ensuring maximum strength with minimal weight.

Made in the UK

The table is produced in collaboration with Mass Concrete, a leading UK concrete casting facility. Robinson uses a reinforced concrete composite blended with recycled aggregate and sand, polishing each tabletop to a smooth, scratch-free finish. The Intra Side Table is available in Earthen Red or Olive Green, with pigments added to the liquid concrete before casting to create vibrant, lasting colors.

Priced at £995 GBP (approx. $1,327 USD), each piece is made to order, reflecting a commitment to small-scale production and local craftsmanship.
