The 594-page volume offers an intimate look into the architect’s creative process.

TASCHEN has unveiled Tadao Ando. Sketches, Drawings, and Architecture, a new 594-page book created in close collaboration with the Japanese architect. The multilingual edition presents 750 of Ando’s sketches, drawings, and technical plans, spanning five decades of his work.

From early projects like the Row House in Sumiyoshi to later landmarks including the Chichu Art Museum and Paris’s Bourse de Commerce, the collection traces Ando’s architectural evolution while highlighting his deep focus on human experience, memory, and place. Interwoven commentary and a new foreword penned by Ando himself further immerse readers in his design ethos.

Priced at $200 USD, the book is now available for pre-order via TASCHEN and will release officially in November.
