Stocker Lee Architetti Shapes WOOYOUNGMI’s New Seoul Flagship

The fashion house unveils a sculptural landmark in Itaewon that translates tailoring, restraint, and place into architecture.

A Return to Seoul

Following the opening of its Paris flagship on Rue Saint Honoré, WOOYOUNGMI has introduced its second standalone flagship in Seoul’s Itaewon district. Completed in October twenty twenty five, the building was designed by Stocker Lee Architetti and marks a return to the brand’s origins through a distinctly architectural statement. The structure spans nine hundred seventy square meters and presents a monolithic presence that mirrors the precision and confidence of the label itself.

Architecture Shaped by the Street

The building responds directly to its compact and curved site along a sloping road. Rather than resisting these constraints, the architects allowed the volume to bend and adapt to the movement of the street. The exterior is defined by two contrasting surfaces, with a lower mass of textured concrete cast using OSB formwork and an upper portion wrapped in glass blocks. During the day, the glass filters natural light into the interior, while at night it transforms the building into a glowing landmark within Itaewon.

Interior as a Continuous Journey

Inside, the steep site is navigated through staggered mezzanine levels organized around a central vertical core. This layout creates shifting proportions and ceiling heights, guiding visitors through the womenswear and menswear collections as part of a single flowing experience. Materials remain intentionally restrained, with concrete, steel, stone, and wood forming a calm backdrop for the garments. The space also includes a ground floor lounge with custom furniture by artist Dongwook Choi and a rooftop garden overlooking the city, reinforcing the flagship’s role as both a retail destination and a cultural statement.
