A five-story space brings together French craftsmanship and Chinese heritage.
A New Chapter in Sanlitun
Hermès has officially opened its first stand-alone flagship in Beijing, located in the bustling Sanlitun district. As the brand’s fourth location in the city, the five-story space marks a significant expansion of its presence in China, offering a more immersive and comprehensive retail experience that goes beyond the traditional boutique format.
Architecture Rooted in Cultural Dialogue
Designed by RDAI in collaboration with Mamou-Mani Architects, the building draws clear inspiration from the nearby Forbidden City. Its exterior is wrapped in rose-pink and terracotta ceramic tiles, referencing traditional Chinese rooflines while maintaining a distinctly modern feel. The semi-transparent facade allows natural light to filter through, creating a soft, evolving atmosphere throughout the day.
An Immersive Journey Through Craft
Inside, each floor unfolds with its own distinct mood, guiding visitors through Hermès’ 16 métiers. From leather goods and ready-to-wear to silk, jewelry and equestrian pieces, the layout is designed to feel fluid and intentional. More than just a retail space, the flagship functions as a cultural exchange, where local influence and Parisian craftsmanship meet in a carefully considered environment.
