Step into a playful, sci-fi-inspired digital world this festive season with Gary Card’s latest exhibition.

A Surreal Digital Playground

Gary Card has unveiled Homunculand at W1 Curates, transforming Oxford Street into a vibrant digital landscape. The exhibition extends his Homunculus sculpture series into animated video artworks, blending cartoon iconography, set design, and digital art. Large-format outdoor screens and an immersive basement gallery allow visitors to explore a whimsical universe where ragtag characters traverse alien terrains dotted with colossal relics.

Dreamlike Storytelling

The show merges sculpture with digital animation, bringing Card’s figurative creations to life in surreal dreamscapes reminiscent of retro RPGs and sci-fi adventures. Scans of his original sculptures are transformed into hills, valleys, and otherworldly objects, offering a transportive experience that highlights the artist’s fascination with childhood cartoons and experimental storytelling.

Exhibition Details

Homunculand is on view at W1 Curates from December 4, 2025, to January 7, 2026, inviting audiences to explore this playful intersection of sculpture, animation, and digital art.
