A 639 PS powerhouse blends electrification with next generation torque control.
A New Era for Audi Sport
Audi Sport has unveiled the all new RS 5, marking its first entry into the world of high performance plug in hybrid technology. Positioned at the top of the A5 range, the electrified model arrives in both Sedan and Avant forms, delivering a combined output of 470 kW or 639 PS. The new RS 5 signals a major shift for the brand, pairing traditional combustion power with advanced electric performance.
Hybrid Power Meets Dynamic Torque Control
At the heart of the RS 5 is a revised 2.9 liter twin turbo V6 operating on a modified Miller cycle, working alongside a 130 kW electric motor integrated into an eight speed transmission. Together, the system delivers explosive performance while enhancing efficiency. The model also debuts a world first Dynamic Torque Control system, using an electromechanical rear transaxle to redistribute torque in milliseconds. This technology recalculates optimal power delivery every five milliseconds, offering heightened agility and precision in corners.
Aggressive Design and Advanced Cabin Tech
Visually, the RS 5 adopts a dramatically widened stance, sitting nine centimeters broader than the standard A5. Flared arches, large forged wheels, a honeycomb Singleframe grille, and oval tailpipes reinforce its performance identity. Inside, a curved Audi MMI Panorama display combines an 11.9 inch virtual cockpit with a 14.5 inch central interface. To sustain peak output, the 25.9 kWh battery is actively cooled in dedicated performance modes. European orders are set to open in early 2026, with pricing for the Sedan starting at 106,200 euros.
