A milestone anniversary brings together classic design cues, modern mobility, and a full cultural takeover of the Eternal City.
A Century-Spanning Design Legacy Reimagined
Vespa is celebrating 80 years since its debut in 1946 with a special edition scooter release that revisits its most recognizable design language. The new Vespa 80th series, offered in both Primavera and GTS models, revives the original Pastel Green finish that defined the brand’s earliest production models.
Subtle archival references appear throughout the build, from tone-on-tone trim details to diamond-finished wheel designs inspired by the 1946 Vespa 98. A commemorative “80TH” badge further anchors the model in its anniversary theme, reinforcing its position as both a functional vehicle and a collectible design object.
A Lifestyle Collection Anchored in Industrial Symbolism
Alongside the scooters, Vespa introduces a dedicated apparel and accessories line built around a new emblem featuring the number 80 embedded within a hexagonal bolt motif. The design references the brand’s engineering roots while translating them into a contemporary streetwear language.
The collection spans jackets, polos, and functional outerwear, alongside protective accessories such as a certified jet helmet designed to meet modern safety standards. Together, the range extends Vespa’s identity beyond mobility into everyday style.
Rome Becomes the Stage for a Four Day Celebration
To mark the anniversary, Vespa will host a large scale public celebration in Rome from June 25 to June 28, turning the city into a living tribute to Italian design culture and the idea of La Dolce Vita.
Blending product, heritage, and place, the 80th anniversary positions Vespa not just as a transport icon, but as a continuing symbol of cultural movement and lifestyle expression.
