From immersive Met Gala moments to major creative shakeups and luxury retail expansions, the fashion world had a packed week.

The Met Gala 2026 Sets the Tone for Fashion’s Biggest Month

The Metropolitan Museum of Art officially unveiled an early look inside its highly anticipated 2026 “Costume Art” exhibition ahead of this year’s Met Gala. The showcase explored the relationship between fashion and fine art through archival garments, sculptural silhouettes, and contemporary designs that blurred the line between clothing and installation pieces.

Curated by Andrew Bolton, the exhibition featured standout works from brands like Y/Project and Jean Paul Gaultier while welcoming celebrities including Beyoncé, Rihanna, A$AP Rocky, Naomi Osaka, Alyssa Liu, and Bad Bunny for fashion’s biggest night. The “Fashion Is Art” theme pushed attendees toward more conceptual styling choices, turning this year’s carpet into one of the event’s most visually ambitious in recent memory.

A.P.C., Chanel and Kith Make Major Moves

French label A.P.C. officially named Ludivine Poiblanc as its new artistic director, signaling a fresh creative chapter for the Parisian brand. Known for her extensive editorial and styling background, Poiblanc is expected to help evolve A.P.C.’s identity while maintaining its refined minimalist roots.

Meanwhile, Chanel announced that its upcoming Métiers d’art 2027 presentation will take place in Rome. The luxury house continues its tradition of pairing artisan focused collections with globally significant cultural destinations, emphasizing craftsmanship and heritage at the core of the brand.

In Los Angeles, Kith reopened its West Hollywood flagship with a refreshed retail concept and the debut of Ronnie Fieg’s “Ronnie’s Pronto” dining experience. The reopening also included an exclusive New Balance collaboration that quickly drew crowds to the updated location.

Miu Miu Continues To Fuel Prada Group’s Momentum

Prada Group reported strong first quarter growth for 2026, with much of the momentum being driven by Miu Miu’s continued dominance across fashion and accessories. The brand’s current popularity has helped push Prada Group toward another standout financial year, especially as the industry keeps a close eye on the company’s evolving plans surrounding Versace.

Elsewhere, music and fashion continued to overlap heavily throughout the week. Rauw Alejandro shared a behind the scenes look at preparing for the Met Gala in a custom Saint Laurent ensemble inspired by glam rock aesthetics, while fashion creator Wisdom Kaye teamed up with Public School for an inside look at the craftsmanship and creative direction behind his own Met Gala appearance.
