The pop superstar ends weeks of speculation with a surprise reveal on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast.
Countdown Ends With a Big Reveal
After a mysterious countdown on her official website sent fans into overdrive, Taylor Swift has officially announced her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. The news dropped at exactly 12:12 a.m. ET on August 12, when Swift’s online store went live with pre-orders for vinyl, CD, and cassette editions. While the release date is yet to be confirmed, shipping is planned ahead of October 13.
First Look Coming Soon
The current artwork shown online — a mint green background with a glittery burnt-orange padlock — is only a placeholder, with the real design set to debut during Swift’s appearance on the New Heights podcast this Wednesday, August 13. In a teaser clip shared on Instagram, Swift holds up a blurred copy of the record and says, “This is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl.”
A New Chapter After Record-Breaking Success
Swift’s last album, The Tortured Poets Department, debuted in April 2024 and spent 17 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, earning her a Grammy nomination for album of the year. Since wrapping her Eras Tour in December, she’s kept a low profile — aside from reclaiming the masters of her first six albums earlier this year. Now, with The Life of a Showgirl, she’s ready to usher in a brand new era for her fans.
