Classic performance design meets one of the most iconic visuals in art history.
A Cultural Reference, Not Just a Colorway
Salomon takes a more artistic direction with the XT-4 OG Japan “Nami Pack,” drawing inspiration from The Great Wave off Kanagawa. Rather than a literal translation, the design pulls from the motion and rhythm of waves, blending traditional Japanese imagery with a modern technical silhouette.
Wave Graphics Meet Trail DNA
The XT-4 OG is built on Salomon’s proven performance foundation, but visually, it leans more expressive than usual. Flowing indigo wave patterns move across the upper, layered over breathable mesh and synthetic panels. Crisp white accents break up the design, giving the shoe a clean contrast while letting the wave motif stay front and center.
Performance Still Comes First
Underneath the artistic direction, the tech remains unchanged. The shoe features Salomon’s ACS chassis system for stability, EnergyCell+ cushioning for responsiveness, and a Contagrip outsole designed for traction across varied terrain. It is still very much a trail shoe — just one that happens to carry a strong visual identity.
A Full “Nami Pack” Vision
Alongside the XT-4 OG, the pack also includes the ACS Pro, which carries the same wave-inspired design language across a slightly different build. Both models keep branding minimal, allowing the graphics and sculptural sole units to define the look.
A More Thoughtful Approach to Design
The “Nami Pack” stands out because it does not rely on loud branding or hype-driven elements. Instead, it leans into storytelling through design — using movement, texture, and cultural reference to create something that feels intentional rather than purely aesthetic.
Set to release May 29, the XT-4 OG “Nami Pack” offers a more considered take on what a performance sneaker can look like today.
