Welcome Home, RM & V
It’s a huge day for BTS fans around the world — RM and V have officially been discharged from their mandatory military service in South Korea. The two were met by an excited crowd of fans in Chuncheon City on Tuesday, where they greeted ARMY with warm thanks and a few words of anticipation for what’s coming next.
“To all the ARMYs who waited for us while we served, I’m truly, truly thankful,” V shared. “Just hang in there a little longer — we’ll be back with a really amazing performance.”
The Countdown to a Full BTS Reunion
With RM and V now home, BTS is on the verge of a full reunion. Here’s where the rest of the group stands:
- Jin was the first to be discharged (June 2024)
- J-Hope followed in October 2024
- Jimin and JungKook are expected to be discharged tomorrow, June 11
- SUGA, who has been serving in an alternative civilian role, is due to complete his service later this month
The group initially paused all joint activities in 2023 to fulfill their national duty. As required for South Korean men between the ages of 18 and 35, each member served approximately 18 months.
Solo Projects Filled the Gap — But Group Energy Is Irreplaceable
During their time apart, each member continued to stay active through solo music, videos, and fan communication. Still, nothing quite compares to the energy BTS brings as a full unit.
J-Hope recently told Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe,
“I’m looking forward to June, when everyone’s service will be complete. We’ll meet up quickly and start talking about BTS’s next steps. I think it’s going to be powerful.”
He also shared with Weverse Magazine:
“When we’re all back together, it’s going to be a moment. I can’t wait to perform again and remind everyone who we are — this is BTS.”
What’s Next for BTS?
While nothing official has been announced yet, fans are already buzzing with anticipation. From comeback theories to potential tour dreams, the ARMY is ready for whatever the group brings next.
One thing’s for sure: BTS is coming back with renewed energy, deeper gratitude, and something big in the works.
