Blending centuries of Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary fashion, PUBLIC TOKYO’s newest flagship creates an immersive retail experience in the heart of Jingumae.
A Store That Celebrates Japanese Heritage
PUBLIC TOKYO has officially opened its first standalone flagship store in Jingumae, Shibuya, marking a major milestone for the premium fashion label under TOKYO BASE. Located along Meiji Dori, the expansive 300 square meter boutique has been designed as more than just a retail destination, serving as a space where traditional Japanese culture meets modern design.
Inspired by the architecture of historic shrines, the interior centers around a sanctuary-like structure that reimagines classic elements such as kagura bells, lanterns, latticework, and offering boxes through a contemporary lens. Natural materials that evoke wood and washi paper further reinforce the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship while creating a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
Exclusive Collections Debut With the New Flagship
To celebrate the store’s opening, PUBLIC TOKYO has introduced a selection of exclusive garments available only at the new location. Each piece is crafted using an innovative linen-like polyester fabric that combines the natural appearance of linen with wrinkle resistance, flexibility, and everyday comfort.
Highlights include the Butcher Linen Drawstring Shirt paired with matching Drape Easy Pants, offering a relaxed yet elevated silhouette. The collection also features a Kimono Sleeve Tee alongside Triple Tack Wide Pants inspired by traditional hakama trousers, bringing classic Japanese influences into modern wardrobes for both men and women.
A New Chapter for PUBLIC TOKYO
The opening of the Jingumae flagship reflects PUBLIC TOKYO’s ongoing dedication to its “ALL MADE IN JAPAN” philosophy. Every detail, from the store’s architecture to its exclusive apparel, showcases the brand’s focus on local craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and premium manufacturing.
As PUBLIC TOKYO continues to grow, the new flagship stands as both a retail destination and a cultural expression of contemporary Japanese fashion, offering visitors an experience that honors tradition while embracing the future.
