The GT3 formula goes open-top without losing its edge.
GT3 Performance, Now Open-Air
Porsche has officially unveiled the 911 GT3 S/C, marking the first time the GT3 badge gets a fully automatic convertible roof. Pulling from the DNA of the 911 Speedster and 911 S/T, the new variant keeps things focused on pure driving while adding the open-air experience. Under the hood, it runs the same 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six found in the 992.2 GT3, pushing out 502 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. It’s offered exclusively with a six-speed manual, hitting 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and topping out at 313 km/h—unchanged from the coupe.
Lightweight Engineering Meets Everyday Usability
Despite the added complexity of a convertible, Porsche kept weight in check at 1,497 kg, only slightly heavier than previous lightweight-focused models like the 911 Speedster. Extensive carbon fiber use across the hood, doors and fenders helps offset the soft-top system, while magnesium centerlock wheels and a standard PCCB braking setup keep performance sharp. Even the roof itself is engineered with magnesium structural elements to maintain rigidity and minimize weight high up.
Subtle Customization and Touring DNA
The chassis setup closely follows the GT3 Touring, now paired with a double wishbone front axle—something new for an open-top 911. Inside, it leans into a stripped-back feel with lightweight materials and minimal excess. For those wanting a bit more personality, Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur program offers a Street Style Package, adding Pyro Red graphics and a two-tone interior. Unlike past GT3-adjacent cabriolets, the S/C isn’t a limited run, making it a rare mix of exclusivity and accessibility within the lineup.
