Pedro Pedro Transforms La Nave into a Living Celebration

nave

The artist marks Fundación La Nave Salinas’ 10th anniversary with a vibrant, joyful exhibition.

A Feast for the Senses

Spanish painter Pedro Pedro’s solo show, Picnic, turns the Ibiza-based La Nave into a riot of color, humor, and life. Across 15 large-format canvases, he stages a lavish alfresco scene filled with desserts, bouquets, toppled wine glasses, and gleaming jewels, flipping the traditional vanitas idea from memento mori to memento vivere -“remember to live.”

Influences and Visual Language

Drawing from Wayne Thiebaud, Fernando Botero, and mid-century design, Pedro infuses bold color and exaggerated form into each piece. By suggesting human presence without showing figures, he encourages viewers to focus on the experience and emotion, creating a dynamic, immersive environment.

Celebrating Life and La Nave

For founder Lio Malca, Picnic embodies the spirit of La Nave’s 10th anniversary: an explosion of color, energy, and storytelling that awakens joy. With its historic stone walls and Mediterranean backdrop, the space becomes a canvas itself, allowing Pedro’s vision to envelop visitors in a festive and vibrant celebration.
