NIGO and Pharrell Unveil JAPA VALLEY TOKYO with NOT A HOTEL

Set to debut in 2027, the Tokyo-based concept blends hospitality, art, and sake culture in a new creative district.

A Tokyo Take on Wine Country, Reimagined

NIGO and Pharrell Williams are once again joining forces—this time with Japanese hospitality brand NOT A HOTEL—to launch JAPA VALLEY TOKYO, a new cultural destination slated to open in 2027. Inspired by the spirit of California’s Napa Valley, the project reinterprets that idyllic atmosphere through a Japanese lens, trading in wine country vibes for sake tastings and design-forward experiences.

The site will be located in Tokyo’s upcoming Yurakucho Park and marks NOT A HOTEL’s first urban concept. Unlike the brand’s typical retreat-style residences, JAPA VALLEY TOKYO is set to become a dynamic creative hub at the city’s center, merging retail, food, and art in a space that evolves with each visit.

Where Architecture, Art, and Sake Collide

Early renderings show timber-arched structures with living rooftops and airy, glass-wrapped interiors, designed to let in the city’s light while offering moments of calm. At the heart of it all will be a reclining COMPANION sculpture by KAWS—anchoring the sprawling hectare-sized space with a dose of whimsy and global art appeal. The artist previously collaborated with NIGO on a NOT A HOTEL project along Japan’s coast.

JAPA VALLEY TOKYO promises to be more than just another development—it’s positioned as a new kind of cultural playground, one where sake brewing, fashion pop-ups, and site-specific installations flow together under one thoughtful vision.

Stay tuned as more details are revealed ahead of its limited run in 2027.
