MINI JCW and Deus Ex Machina Unveil Two Exclusive One-Off Cars

The collaboration brings together racing heritage and surf culture in a bold new way.

Two Distinct Characters on the Road

MINI John Cooper Works and Deus Ex Machina revealed two bespoke cars at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. Both vehicles share MINI JCW foundations but differ in powertrain and personality: a fully electric JCW J01 with surf-inspired design, and a combustion-engine JCW F66 tuned for track performance. Each car features a white “X” on the roof, symbolizing the brands’ collaborative vision.

Design Collaboration Across Brands

The styling was a joint effort between Deus Creative Director Carby Tuckwell, designer Matt Willey, MINI’s design team led by Holger Hampf, and Munich-based Designworks. Both interiors and exteriors combine artisanal detail with technical precision, creating vehicles that are visually distinct yet harmonious in proportions, finishes, and signature color blocking.

Apparel Inspired by Motorsport

Extending the partnership beyond cars, MINI and Deus developed a unisex capsule collection launching at IAA. The apparel merges high-quality materials and tailored streetwear with motorsport DNA, reflecting both brands’ commitment to performance, craftsmanship, and style. The collection will roll out globally following its Munich debut.
