Fans can step into the “Land of Wano” arc through dynamic, large-scale installations.
Celebrating 25 Years
Toei Animation and Mercer Labs have joined forces for “ONE PIECE x MERCER LABS,” an immersive exhibition honoring Eiichiro Oda’s legendary anime series. Open now at Mercer Labs in New York City, the experience marks more than 25 years since One Piece first aired in Japan, a franchise that has grown to include 15 feature films, numerous games, and one of the most devoted fanbases in anime history.
Immersive Installations
The exhibition spans 11 rooms, each reimagining the “Land of Wano” arc with large-scale installations of sound, light, and motion. Guests enter through the “Window Room,” featuring a circular ceiling screen revisiting the Straw Hat Crew’s journey to the samurai nation. The “Infinite Room” surrounds visitors in mirrored horizons of sea and sky, showcasing the Thousand Sunny ship suspended midair. The “Dragon Room” displays hundreds of LED neurons forming a dynamic sculpture of Zoro’s battle with King, while the “Cave Room,” blanketed in pink hydrangea, portrays Momonosuke’s dragon transformation in vivid, dreamlike color.
Art Meets Technology
“As a museum blending art and technology, we wanted to bring ONE PIECE’s imagination to life in new dimensions,” said Mercer Labs co-founder Roy Nachum. Complementing the installations, Nachum unveils a new oil painting of Luffy among cherry blossoms, fusing his signature gold crown motif with the anime’s spirit.
The exhibition runs through November 30 at Mercer Labs’ NYC location.
