Blending archival imagery, cinematic nostalgia, and Vietnamese American storytelling, LỰU ĐẠN’s latest capsule pays tribute to one of pop culture’s most influential icons.
AAPI Month Inspires a Deeply Personal Collaboration
LỰU ĐẠN has partnered with the Bruce Lee Institute for a special collection celebrating the legacy of Bruce Lee during AAPI Month.
Rather than recreating Bruce Lee’s likeness with a model or actor, the campaign utilizes archival photography supplied directly by the institute. Using AI assisted retouching, the imagery places Lee himself into the new collection, creating a visual bridge between his cultural legacy and contemporary streetwear.
Hung La Channels Bruce Lee’s Hollywood Legacy
For LỰU ĐẠN founder Hung La, the collaboration carries personal significance. Growing up as a Vietnamese American creative, La has long cited Bruce Lee as a major influence, particularly admiring the actor’s determination to break through barriers within Hollywood and global entertainment.
That connection reportedly deepened after watching Be Water, the acclaimed documentary directed by Bao Nguyen that explored the struggles and resilience behind Lee’s rise to stardom.
Game of Death Colors and Vintage Kung Fu Graphics Lead the Collection
The capsule blends martial arts nostalgia with contemporary design language through oversized graphics, bold color palettes, and cinematic references pulled directly from Bruce Lee’s legendary film career.
Several pieces nod to Lee’s instantly recognizable yellow jumpsuit from Game of Death, while standout items include graphic hoodies, archival photo tees, and a dramatic flame covered bomber jacket inspired by vintage Kung Fu movie posters.
Accessories also play into the larger tribute, including an oversized statement belt buckle embossed with Bruce Lee’s likeness.
A Modern Tribute to an Icon
More than a simple merchandise collaboration, the Bruce Lee x LỰU ĐẠN collection reflects how Lee’s influence continues to resonate across fashion, film, and Asian American creative culture decades after his passing.
The full capsule is available now through LỰU ĐẠN’s online store and select retail partners.
