Le Labo Celebrates Japanese Craft With the CYPRÈS 21 Indigo Classic Candle

le labo

An indigo inspired edition of the brand’s signature candle highlights traditional dyeing techniques and quiet ritual.

Indigo as Art and Process

Le Labo has introduced the CYPRÈS 21 Indigo Classic Candle, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese indigo dyeing. The release reimagines the brand’s familiar CYPRÈS 21 scent through a visual language rooted in heritage craftsmanship. Each glass vessel is hand dipped in indigo by a fifth generation family run workshop in Japan, making every piece subtly unique.

Design Grounded in Craft

The candle is presented in an artisanal glass container finished in deep blue tones and housed in a craft box with a gradient dyed label. The packaging reflects the many shades found in natural indigo, emphasizing process, material, and handwork rather than uniformity. Together, the vessel and packaging underscore Le Labo’s ongoing focus on human touch and traditional technique.

A Calm and Resinous Scent

The fragrance remains true to the original CYPRÈS 21 composition, blending bright resinous cypress with juniper, clove, and star anise, all grounded by incense and patchouli. Designed to evoke stillness and reflection, the candle is available now through Le Labo for approximately eighty five US dollars.
