High octane film culture collides with basketball performance as PUMA translates iconic movie cars into court ready silhouettes.
Translating Street Racing Into Performance Design
PUMA and Fast and Furious have officially joined forces on a footwear collection that pulls directly from the franchise’s early two thousands car culture. Anchored by LaMelo Ball’s signature line, the collaboration spans the MB.05, LaFrancé RNR and LaFrancé silhouettes, each reimagined through the visual language of legendary on screen vehicles. The result is a pack that blends motorsport nostalgia with modern basketball technology.
The MB.05 as a Rolling Tribute
The MB.05 arrives in two distinct colorways, each inspired by a fan favorite car from the Fast and Furious universe. One iteration channels Brian O’Conner’s orange Toyota Supra, pairing a vivid orange base with neon yellow and metallic silver accents that reference the film’s Nuclear Gladiator graphics. LaMelo’s signature detailing is layered throughout, while a tonal orange midsole keeps the look bold and cohesive.
The second version draws from Suki’s pink Honda S2000, translating its anime inspired airbrush livery into layered textures and graphic line work across the upper. Soft pinks and whites dominate the palette, giving the performance model a striking visual identity that mirrors the original car’s standout presence.
Muscle Cars and JDM Influence Beyond the Court
Shifting toward lifestyle wear, the LaFrancé RNR takes cues from Dom Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger. Finished in glossy black patent leather, the silhouette emphasizes mass and attitude, with reflective silver piping and red accents referencing the Charger’s exposed engine details. Meanwhile, the LaFrancé silhouette nods to the Nissan Skyline GT R, featuring silver and blue racing stripes that bridge the collection’s motorsport theme with off court appeal.
The Fast and Furious x PUMA collection is set to release on February twelve through PUMA, with pricing ranging from one hundred twenty five to one hundred thirty US dollars.
