HYDE Ignites Tokyo in Theatrical Chaos at 2025 World Tour Opener

HYDE

HYDE opened his largest tour yet with a show that blurred the line between rock concert and gothic spectacle.

A Cinematic Descent into HYDE’s World

The HYDE [INSIDE] LIVE 2025 WORLD TOUR kicked off in Tokyo at Zepp Haneda with a dramatic and symbolic countdown to 17:06 (a stylized nod to 666). When the curtains dropped, the stage revealed a towering podium adorned with skulls and serpents. HYDE emerged cloaked and masked, commanding the stage with “LET IT OUT,” before plunging into back-to-back blasts of “AFTER LIGHT” and “I GOT 666.”

Every moment was dialed up to maximum theatricality: HYDE screamed into a megaphone with horned tips, mounted amps, and set off sirens while leading the crowd through a frenzy of motion and voice. The mix of chaos and control reflected his distinct aesthetic — dark, unhinged, but always intentional.

Sound, Fury, and Heart

Mid-set, HYDE’s mood shifted with the haunting “ON MY OWN,” swaying a flag under plumes of smoke. A stark piano intro led into “TOKOSHIE,” the theme from Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc, where the stage transformed into a ceremonial space. HYDE, lit from above like a lone prophet, delivered the song with a chilling, almost sacred presence.

He later surprised the crowd with a stylized cover of “Welcome to the Black Parade,” adding his punk-inflected twist. The crowd rose again for “6or9,” “MAD QUALIA,” and “DEVIL SIDE,” complete with circle pits, crowd surfing, and fans reaching for his hand as he stood at the barrier.

The heaviest moment came with “SOCIAL VIRUS,” where HYDE’s body convulsed with intensity and the mantra “I want to see more chaos” pulsed through the venue. The emotional peak arrived with “LAST SONG” — confetti fell, HYDE collapsed, and the audience stood silent, captivated by the raw vulnerability of a man giving everything.

A Final Word and One Last Explosion

Returning for an encore, HYDE shared his thoughts on aging, authenticity, and the importance of doing what he loves — even if it means losing casual fans. From a second-story balcony to the front of the crowd, he appeared unexpectedly, keeping fans on edge.

He closed with three final tracks: “MUGEN,” also from Demon Slayer, the beloved “GLAMOROUS SKY,” and tour finale “SEX BLOOD ROCK N’ ROLL.” The curtains dropped and the words “THE END” appeared, marking the close of a night that felt like both a rock show and a reckoning.

HYDE continues across Japan and will soon bring his immersive vision to fans around the world. Expect spectacle. Expect intensity. Expect to leave changed.
