The new grand touring drop top combines Ferrari performance with open air luxury.
A New Convertible Grand Tourer
Ferrari has officially introduced the Amalfi Spider, the open top counterpart to the Amalfi coupe and the successor to the Roma Spider. Designed as a front mid engine grand tourer, the convertible blends the sleek design of the coupe with engineering tailored for open air driving.
The Amalfi Spider keeps the coupe’s sculpted and muscular body while incorporating structural and aerodynamic adjustments for the convertible format. A newly introduced exterior color called Rosso Tramonto highlights the launch, inspired by the warm orange glow of a sunset.
A Soft Top Engineered for Comfort and Speed
One of the key features of the Amalfi Spider is its advanced retractable soft top. The roof uses a five layer acoustic fabric designed to provide sound insulation and thermal protection similar to a hardtop.
The roof can retract in just 13.5 seconds while the car is moving at speeds of up to 37 miles per hour. When folded, it measures only 8.7 inches thick, helping preserve luggage space in the rear.
To improve comfort during open air driving, the convertible also includes a wind deflector that rises from the rear seats with the press of a button.
V8 Power and a Return to Physical Controls
Powering the Amalfi Spider is a 3.9 liter twin turbo V8 engine producing 631 horsepower and 561 pound feet of torque. The engine sends power to the rear wheels through an eight speed dual clutch transmission, allowing the car to accelerate from zero to 62 miles per hour in about 3.3 seconds.
Inside the cabin, Ferrari has moved away from touch sensitive controls and returned to physical steering wheel buttons along with a traditional aluminum push to start system. The dashboard layout has also been updated with a lower positioned infotainment screen to keep the driver focused on the road.
The Ferrari Amalfi Spider is expected to launch in 2027.
