Once owned by the rock legend and shaped by an early racing career in East Africa, this 1966 Ferrari combines celebrity provenance with exceptional rarity.

A Storied Grand Tourer With Racing Roots

A 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 formerly owned by Eric Clapton has resurfaced on the collector market, bringing with it a remarkable history that stretches from East African motorsport to one of rock music’s most celebrated figures. Carrying chassis number 09261, the car was originally delivered to Kenya, where it built an early competition pedigree before eventually joining Clapton’s collection in 2003.

Adding to its exclusivity, the car is one of just 31 right hand drive examples ever produced. Finished in its factory correct Grigio Argento paint, the grand tourer blends timeless Italian styling with a history that extends far beyond the typical collector car.

One Of Ferrari’s Most Revered V12 Machines

Under the hood sits a naturally aspirated 3.3 liter four cam V12 producing 300 horsepower. Widely regarded as one of Ferrari’s finest engines of the era, the powerplant helped establish the 275 GTB/4 as one of the marque’s most desirable road cars.

The combination of performance and elegance made the model equally capable on winding roads and race circuits. More than half a century later, its mechanical purity and unmistakable soundtrack continue to make it a favorite among enthusiasts and collectors alike.

A Unique Piece Of Automotive And Music History

Few classic Ferraris offer such a distinctive combination of racing heritage, rarity, and celebrity ownership. The car’s journey from East African competition events to Eric Clapton’s garage gives it an international story that sets it apart from other examples.

For collectors seeking something truly special, this silver 275 GTB/4 represents a rare convergence of automotive excellence and rock and roll history, making it one of the most intriguing Ferraris currently available.
