Drake’s ICEMAN Celebration Arrives in the Coolest Way Possible

An unforgettable gift connected music, motorsport history, and larger than life creativity in honor of Drake’s newest release.

A Frozen Tribute for a Major Release

When Drake released his latest project, ICEMAN, the celebrations matched the scale of the moment. To mark the launch, producer Daniel “Spinz” Forrest teamed up with OVO Gelo to surprise the Toronto superstar with a life sized Formula 1 car sculpture made entirely from ice.

Delivered directly to Drake’s home, the massive installation transformed the album’s title into a striking visual statement. The sculpture immediately captured attention, blending the worlds of music, art, and motorsports into a single unforgettable tribute.

Inspired by a Legendary Formula 1 Moment

The concept was far more meaningful than a simple display piece. The sculpture paid homage to Formula 1 icon Kimi Räikkönen, whose nickname, “The Iceman,” became one of the most recognizable monikers in racing history.

Back in 2006, during the Monaco Grand Prix, Räikkönen was honored with a full scale ice sculpture of his McLaren MP4 21. With the twentieth anniversary of that memorable moment aligning closely with the release of Drake’s ICEMAN project, the creative team saw the perfect opportunity to reimagine the concept for a new generation.

Bringing the Vision to Life

To ensure accuracy, the team reportedly secured the original CAD files for the McLaren MP4 21. With support from Formula 1 insiders Nick Martin and Mark Norris, along with design work from Mike at MAWG Design, the sculpture was recreated with remarkable attention to detail.

As ICEMAN continues to generate massive attention, the gift stands out as one of the most unique album release celebrations in recent memory. By connecting Drake’s latest chapter with a legendary piece of Formula 1 history, the OVO camp once again demonstrated its ability to turn a cultural moment into something unforgettable.
