Doja Cat Announces Completion of ‘Pop-Driven’ Album Vie in French

Doja

Doja Cat surprised fans with a chic French-language update, revealing her highly anticipated album is officially finished.

Parlez-vous Français? Doja Cat has confirmed that her upcoming album Vie is complete, sharing the news in a simple French-language post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, July 21. Keeping it short and stylish, she wrote, “L’album est complet,” which translates to “The album is complete,” alongside a croissant emoji.

Set to release this fall, Vie will be Doja’s first album since 2023’s Scarlet, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and gave fans the chart-topping single “Paint the Town Red,” a Billboard Hot 100 hit for three weeks. Earlier this month, Doja teased the project in a cover story for V magazine, describing it as a more pop-oriented record.

“I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project,” she explained. “I know that I can make pop music, and pop is just that it’s popular. People view it as a sport sometimes, but at the end of the day, it’s just music — something meant to be enjoyed.”

While fans have yet to hear official snippets from Vie, Doja has been teasing new music through now-deleted clips on social media. In the meantime, she’s stayed active with collaborations, teaming up with RAYE and LISA on “Born Again”, joining Jack Harlow for “Just Us,” and working with Don Toliver on “Lose My Mind” for the F1 soundtrack.
