Czinger just unveiled the 21C Spyder at The Quail during Monterey Car Week, stripping away the roof of its already extreme hypercar for a convertible version that somehow feels even more unhinged. The topless variant maintains the carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and powertrain that made the original 21C a cult object among the hypercar obsessed, but now you’re exposed to 1,250 horsepower with zero metal between you and the sky.
The price is appropriately absurd: $2.8 million before options. That buys you a 3D-printed frame engineered by an AI algorithm that Czinger developed to maximize rigidity while shedding unnecessary weight. The Spyder retains that technical lineage but adds the irreverent appeal of an open cockpit, a move that transforms this hypercar from a laboratory specimen into something closer to a modern roadster fantasy. The removal of the roof didn’t compromise structural integrity, Czinger’s computational design approach anticipated this from the start.
This is Czinger’s answer to the handful of other topless hypercars circulating among ultra-wealthy collectors, a segment where exclusivity and engineering prowess matter more than practical considerations like weather protection. The 21C Spyder will be built in extremely limited numbers, naturally, with deliveries expected to begin later this year.
