The late star’s rediscovered hit “Pretty Little Baby” is leading a wave of new releases celebrating her legacy.
Pretty Little Baby Gets Its Moment
Republic/UMe will honor Connie Francis, who passed away on July 16 at age 87, by bringing much of her catalog back into circulation. The centerpiece of this tribute is the long-lost track “Pretty Little Baby,” which went viral on TikTok earlier this year and introduced her to a new generation of listeners. The song will be released on August 29 as a limited-edition baby-pink 7-inch vinyl single, backed with her 1958 breakthrough “Who’s Sorry Now.” At its peak, the rediscovered tune inspired over 600,000 TikTok creations daily and even found fans in Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and other high-profile names.
Holiday Favorites and Expanded Albums
Francis’ beloved 1959 holiday record Christmas in My Heart is also making a comeback. The expanded edition arrives October 17 with four bonus tracks and two vinyl options, including a lipstick-red collector’s edition. Alongside this, over one hundred singles and rarities from 1955 to 1960 are now available to stream across newly curated compilations. Fans can also expect streaming debuts of major albums, beginning September 12 with A New Kind of Connie, and expanded editions of Jealous Heart (1966), My Heart Cries for You (1967), and The Wedding Cake (1969).
A Lasting Legacy
Francis’ impact on music history is undeniable. She was the first female solo artist to achieve a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Everybody’s Somebody’s Fool” in 1960, and the first to follow that with two more chart-topping singles in the years that followed. Her career paved the way for generations of women in music, from Cher to today’s pop icons. With vinyl reissues, expanded collections, and streaming debuts rolling out in the coming months, Connie Francis’ voice and influence will continue to reach both longtime fans and brand-new audiences.
