CJ Hendry Unveils juju, Her First Collectible Art Toy Series

JUJU

A whimsical character launch marking a new chapter in Hendry’s sculptural universe.

A Playful Evolution in Hendry’s Practice

Known for hyperrealism and immersive conceptual exhibitions, CJ Hendry enters the collectible art toy space with juju, a character created in partnership with Phillips. With soft ears, a singular eye and a flower resting across its face, juju blends innocence with quiet surrealism — positioned as companion, muse and artistic symbol rather than simply a toy.

Immersive Launch in Hong Kong

The debut arrives through a two-part showcase in Hong Kong. A towering holiday installation at the Upper House will feature 200 oversized plush juju figures forming a Christmas tree, on view from November 17, 2025 to January 2, 2026. At the same time, Phillips’ West Kowloon space will host a dedicated pop-up exhibition from November 29 to December 2, allowing the public to engage directly with the character and its narrative world.

Collectible Universe Begins

Each plush juju from the installation will be available for adoption, benefiting Mother’s Choice, a Hong Kong charity supporting children and young mothers. Adopted pieces will later be delivered in custom wooden collector boxes with individually signed and numbered cards. Following the debut, juju expands into a broader collectible ecosystem with a series of blind-box bag charms in 24 variations, emphasizing collectibility, rarity and discovery.
