The electric supercar takes a bold step toward track domination.
Extreme Power for the Track
BYD is reportedly developing a track-focused version of the Yangwang U9 supercar that could produce over 3,000 hp. Unlike the standard model, which generates 1,287 hp, the U9 Track Edition would utilize four electric motors — one at each wheel — each producing around 744 hp for a combined output of 3,019 hp.
Design and Specifications
Documents filed with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology reveal a squared-off stance, 325/35/20 tires, enhanced aerodynamic features, and a gross weight of 2,630 kg (5,798 lbs). While the exterior largely mirrors the standard U9, these upgrades are focused on maximizing track performance.
Production and Potential Impact
BYD has not confirmed a release date for the high-output U9, leaving enthusiasts eager for more details. If it reaches production, the Yangwang U9 Track Edition could redefine the benchmark for all-electric supercars, blending extreme power with electric efficiency in a bold new package.
