BMW South Africa Unveils Ultra Limited M2 RR Edition With Matching Superbikes

bmw

BMW’s performance divisions come together for a rare South Africa only collector release limited to just ten units each.

Four Wheels Meet Two Wheel Performance

BMW South Africa and BMW Motorrad South Africa have introduced an exclusive RR Edition capsule that links the BMW M2 Coupé with the brand’s flagship superbikes. Built solely for the South African market, the release is capped at only ten examples per model, making it one of the brand’s rarest regional collaborations in recent memory.

The collection includes the BMW M2 Coupé RR Edition, alongside specially matched versions of the S 1000 RR and M 1000 RR. Designed to celebrate the shared motorsport DNA across BMW’s car and motorcycle divisions, each machine carries coordinated styling and upgraded performance details.

The M2 RR Edition Gets a Darker Edge

The centerpiece of the launch is the M2 RR Edition, finished in Black Sapphire Metallic with aggressive red accents throughout. BMW fitted the coupe with M Performance suspension that lowers the car by 20mm, while staggered black wheels measure 20 inches in front and 21 inches in the rear.

Aerodynamic additions include a front splitter, roof spoiler, and fixed rear wing. Inside, the cabin continues the black and red theme with custom upholstery and a red center marker on the steering wheel. Buyers can choose between a six speed manual or an eight speed automatic transmission, with production evenly split between both options.

Matching Superbikes Complete the Package

The S 1000 RR M2 Edition and M 1000 RR M2 Edition carry the same sinister formula with Black Storm Metallic paint and sharp red detailing. The S 1000 RR receives red highlights across the fairings and seat section, while the flagship M 1000 RR adds extra visual drama with exposed carbon wheels, winglets, and tank graphics.

Both motorcycles come equipped with Akrapovič exhaust systems, reinforcing the race inspired character of the collection.

Deliveries for the M2 RR Edition are expected to begin in late 2026, giving South African collectors a rare opportunity to own one of BMW’s most exclusive multi platform releases.
