The pop star’s heartfelt gesture made one little girl’s day a whole lot brighter.
A Special Delivery From Glinda Herself
Ariana Grande recently made 9-year-old Brie’s week with a thoughtful care package filled with Wicked merchandise and goodies from her R.E.M. Beauty line. Brie, who is currently battling stage four neuroblastoma, shared the unboxing in a heartwarming Instagram video on August 6.
“Today’s package is the best one yet — it’s from my favorite person in the whole wide world, Ariana Grande,” Brie said before showing off her gifts, which included perfume, makeup, and Wicked-themed Squishmallows. “I love everything in the package, especially the Squishmallows!”
Ariana’s Personal Message
The surprises didn’t stop there. At the end of the video, Brie received a heartfelt message from Ariana herself.
“Hi, Brie! It’s Ariana,” the singer said in a custom-recorded clip. “A little birdie told me — your mom told me — that you are a fan of Wicked and of Glinda’s, so I was inspired to put together this little care package for you… My personal favorite part is the Squishmallows.”
Ariana continued, “I hope it makes you smile. I’ve seen your videos, and I think you are the most amazing and inspiring little light beam in this universe. You’re just so incredible, so thank you for being you. I’m sending you so much love and many, many virtual hugs.”
A Bond Beyond the Stage
Brie, who has built a loyal social media following with help from her mom Kendra, had just recently shared how much she adored Ariana. According to Kendra, Ariana’s mom Joan Grande reached out to let them know the pop star had seen Brie’s story and wanted to do something special.
“She has such a beautiful heart,” Kendra wrote in a caption. “Brielle was in shock! Ariana, Brielle thinks you are SO pretty and extremely talented. Thank you for taking the time to send her a package, she is absolutely thrilled.”
This sweet moment comes just months ahead of the release of Wicked: For Good, the highly anticipated sequel to last year’s blockbuster. The first film broke records for a Broadway adaptation, and fans are already counting down the days for its November premiere.
