Southern California turned into a living museum of Porsche history, where every era and every style of the brand came together in one place.
A Massive Gathering of Porsche History
Air | Water 2026 has just wrapped up at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, bringing together what has become the largest single marque Porsche gathering in Southern California. Organized by the team behind Luftgekühlt, this fourth edition expanded even further, showcasing more than 800 cars spanning air cooled icons, modern performance machines, race bred legends, and everything in between.
The scale of the event stretched across multiple display areas and overflow lots, with owners arriving early to present carefully curated builds. From restored classics to highly modified contemporary cars, the show reflected the full spectrum of Porsche culture without restriction on generation or model.
From Air Cooled Icons to Modern GT Machines
The heart of the event celebrated Porsche diversity beyond the traditional 911 focus. Visitors explored everything from vintage air cooled models to colorful daily drivers and track focused builds. The atmosphere emphasized personal expression, with each vehicle telling its own story through restoration choices, performance upgrades, or rare factory specifications.
A major highlight was the public introduction of the Porsche 911 GT3 S C, which sparked conversation among attendees. Alongside it, several standout builds drew crowds, including Gunther Werks Project Endgame, Singer DLS Turbo, and a one of one Porsche 911 GTS Sally inspired by Pixar Cars, presented in full scale form.
Rare Finds and High Stakes Auctions
Beyond the main display areas, the Broad Arrow auction space at the Hangar added another layer of excitement to the weekend. Collectors and spectators watched bidding intensify on some of the most sought after Porsche models in existence.
Notable lots included a 2017 RUF RT12, a highly desirable Porsche 997.2 GT3 RS 4.0, and a 1988 Porsche 959 SC Reimagined by Canepa finished in Viper Green. Each sale underscored the continuing demand for rare and historically significant Porsche engineering.
Air | Water continues to grow as a cultural touchpoint for enthusiasts, and the 2026 edition reinforced its reputation as a destination where heritage, innovation, and passion for Porsche converge in one place.
