The New Balance 2002R Protection Pack Evolves With Gore Tex Upgrades

2002r

A familiar silhouette returns with added weather ready performance and muted seasonal tones.

A Functional Refresh for a Cult Favorite

After bringing back the original Protection Pack colorways earlier this year, New Balance is expanding the 2002R lineup with three new Gore Tex editions. The update keeps the design language that made the pack iconic while adding technical protection suited for year round wear.

Three Monochrome Colorways

The new releases arrive in grey black and wheat. The grey pair reinterprets the brand’s signature neutral palette with jagged suede and leather overlays layered over a matching base. Subtle accents in pale blue dark grey and tan appear along the sole for added depth. The black version leans fully utilitarian with an all black finish that emphasizes the Gore Tex construction. Rounding out the trio is a wheat option that feels especially suited for cooler seasons and outdoor focused styling.

Spring Arrival Ahead

All three New Balance 2002R Gore Tex Protection Pack colorways are expected to release in Spring 2026 through New Balance. Pricing is set at one hundred fifty dollars and further release details are expected closer to launch.
