Sterling Ruby’s design studio delivers a bold three-shoe collaboration with Vans’ OTW line.
The FUTURE CLOG
Leading the collection is a brand-new silhouette called the FUTURE CLOG. This slip-on design blends the minimal form of a mule with the sculptural shape of a traditional Dutch clog — a direct nod to Sterling Ruby’s family roots in the Netherlands. Ruby recalls his grandfather’s bright green clogs worn in the workshop, and channels that memory into a forward-thinking design that respects tradition while pushing boundaries.
Updated Takes on the Old Skool 36 and Authentic 44
Alongside the FUTURE CLOG, the collab revisits two of Vans’ most iconic models: the Old Skool 36 and the Authentic 44. Both arrive in a striking yellow canvas base layered with black marble-like blotches, resembling paint splatters or oil textures. Collaborative details include white-on-black laces stamped with “S.R. STUDIO LA CA” and upgraded Vibram outsoles for extra durability.
The Old Skool 36 keeps its molded toe cap and reinforced sidewalls intact, while the Authentic 44 opts for a sleek laceless toe box and contrasting foxing tape that highlights Ruby’s monochromatic touches.

The S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. x OTW by Vans collection launches August 21 via Vans and select partners. Prices range from $130 to $150 USD.
