Celebrating 120 years of craftsmanship with three timeless icons — buried today, unearthed in 2145.
A Legacy in Leather
Red Wing Heritage is honoring Red Wing’s 120th anniversary with a project rooted in both history and vision: the 120 Year Capsule. The collection revisits three of the brand’s most enduring silhouettes—the Logger, Pecos, and Engineer boots—crafted as stitch-for-stitch reproductions of their originals. In a symbolic gesture, the trio has also been sealed inside a time capsule at Red Wing headquarters, to be opened in another 120 years.
The Three Pillars
- Logger Boot: Reissued in Briar brown and oil-finished Black, the Logger recalls its 1961 form when Red Wing first employed the Vibram lug sole. Designed for lumberjacks, it features ten rows of eyelets and hooks to keep debris out, plus a steel shank for rugged stability.
- Pecos Boot: First launched in 1958 for ranchers and oil field workers, this model is presented in beige roughout leather. Its clean lines and unembellished form emphasize durability and utility over fashion.
- Engineer Boot: Dating back to 1936, the Engineer was built for railroad workers and firefighters. This modern capsule edition features pull-on construction, a stacked heel, and a neoprene cord outsole. Its black Klondike leather will wear down to reveal a deep brown patina, embodying the boot’s century-long lineage.
Availability
The Red Wing Heritage 120 Year Capsule is available now via Red Wing and select retailers. Pricing starts at $370 USD for the Logger and Pecos, with the Engineer priced at $550 USD.
