The latest Ja Morant signature sneaker brings cinematic nostalgia to the court with bold prehistoric design elements.
A Dinosaur Inspired Design With Movie References
Nike has officially revealed the Nike Ja 3 “Jurassic Park,” a sneaker that blends basketball performance with inspiration from one of Hollywood’s most iconic films. The design draws heavily from the 1993 Ford Explorer tour vehicles seen throughout Jurassic Park, bringing the film’s adventurous energy into Ja Morant’s third signature shoe.
The upper features a dramatic yellow to green gradient base layered with vivid red claw mark graphics that stretch across the sides. This bold visual gives the sneaker a T rex inspired look while adding a sense of motion and aggression that fits Morant’s explosive playing style. A glossy finish across the upper adds contrast, while the mudguard uses a textured material that resembles reptile skin.
Details That Connect Basketball and Film History
Several design details further tie the sneaker to the Jurassic Park universe. The tongue features the classic T Rex logo from the film alongside Ja Morant’s personal JA emblem, symbolizing the collaboration between basketball culture and cinematic history.
Two tone rope laces run through the eyelets, echoing outdoor gear used for exploration and survival. On the heel, warning stripe graphics reference the hazard markings seen throughout the fictional dinosaur park, adding another layer of storytelling to the design.
Performance Built for the Court
Beyond its visual theme, the Nike Ja 3 “Jurassic Park” is built with performance in mind. The midsole features a speckled dirt inspired finish that enhances the rugged aesthetic while maintaining the lightweight cushioning expected from a modern basketball sneaker.
Underneath, a durable rubber outsole provides the traction needed for quick cuts and explosive movement. Hidden inside the lining is the phrase Life Finds a Way, a subtle tribute to one of the most memorable lines from the original film. The Nike Ja 3 “Jurassic Park” is expected to release on April 10 for 135 USD through Nike and select retailers.
