Nike Concludes Devin Booker Book 1 Era with Iconic “What The” Colorway

nike

Nike closes out the Book 1 legacy with a playful mismatched edition that celebrates Devin Booker and the many chapters of his signature shoe.

The Release

Nike is wrapping up the roughly two year run of Devin Booker’s first signature shoe with the Nike Book 1 “What The” edition. The model drops on December 16 and will be available through Nike. Retail price is set at 170 USD and the release is extremely limited to 1,996 pairs worldwide as a tribute to Booker’s birth year.

Design Details

True to the “What The” tradition this edition mixes and matches elements from nearly 30 previous Book 1 releases and player exclusive colorways. The left shoe features a patchwork of details including Air Safari style mudguards, golden suede inspired by Chevrolet, Sedona graphics and reptile textures. The right shoe counters with denim panels from a Blue Blood themed pair and map prints from a Flagstaff inspired design. Both shoes include touches such as Desert Camo tongues, rainbow collars and snakeskin overlays. The gradient outsole shifts from orange to yellow as a nod to the Sunset colorway. Each pair carries a 1 of 1996 heel tag to mark its place in the limited run.

Collectibility

With only 1,996 pairs made this release is aimed squarely at collectors and fans of Booker’s era one silhouette. The mix of archival references and the unique numbering makes the Book 1 “What The” a natural closing statement for the Book 1 story and a standout piece for sneaker archives.
