Nike Book 2 “Kentucky Wildcats” PE Celebrates 30 Years of Championship Glory

nike

A denim tribute to the University of Kentucky’s 1996 national championship.

Heritage Meets Performance

Nike is honoring the University of Kentucky with a special Player Edition of Devin Booker’s Book 2, timed with the 30th anniversary of the Wildcats’ 1996 national title. This release merges historical storytelling with contemporary basketball performance, offering a unique bridge between heritage and modernity.

Design Highlights

The “Kentucky Wildcats” PE stands out with a faded indigo denim upper, delivering a vintage, worn-in texture uncommon in basketball sneakers. Royal Blue accents on the laces, heel pull tabs, and inner lining pay homage to the Wildcats’ signature colors, while a clean white midsole with a thin blue stripe at the heel grounds the design. The Book 2 silhouette has been refined for performance, with a more structured collar and reinforced midfoot for enhanced lateral stability on the court.

Exclusive Drop

Rather than a mass-market release, Nike has partnered with Hibbett for an exclusive, commemorative rollout. The Book 2 “Kentucky Wildcats” PE will be available on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 2–8 p.m. ET at select Hibbett locations, appealing to fans seeking both a piece of history and a high-performance sneaker.
