Nike Astra Ultra Shines in Bold “University Gold” Colorway

Nike

A futuristic silhouette with motorsport-inspired design cues gets a striking upgrade.

Nike continues to push the boundaries of lifestyle sneakers with its Astra Ultra model, now arriving in a vivid “University Gold” palette for Fall 2025. Following the recent debut of the “Triple Black” iteration, this release highlights the silhouette’s sleek, performance-driven aesthetic with a vibrant, eye-catching twist.

A Design Rooted in Speed

The Astra Ultra represents a new era for Nike Sportswear, moving away from classic Air Force 1 and Dunk dominance in favor of a slimmer, race-inspired profile. Influenced by motorsport styling and heritage soccer boots like the Total 90 series, the sneaker blends futuristic elements with nostalgic undertones. Its aerodynamic lines and sharp contours speak to movement and modernity.

Details That Stand Out

“University Gold” dominates the molded upper, rippling with sculpted paneling for a dynamic look. The bold yellow tone is balanced by a sleek black tongue and matching laces, while an understated black Swoosh adds minimalist branding. A gum rubber outsole wraps the heel in a wave-like form, providing traction and a subtle nod to classic footwear design.

The Nike Astra Ultra “University Gold” is set to release later this fall via Nike and select retailers.
